Sharon Stein Merkin lives with her husband and 3 boys in west Los Angeles. Sharon works at UCLA School of Medicine, at the Division of Geriatrics as an Epidemiologist; the focus of her research is on associations between biological, social and psychological factors and health. Sharon is an active member of the Modern Orthodox Jewish community in Los Angeles, and is involved in Jewish education programming. Sharon is looking forward to participating in the Newground fellowship, and being involved in local efforts to promote understanding, fellowship and creating bonds between the Jewish and Muslim communities.
