    • Challenge: Political or social topics have become so charged in a community that civil conversations are no longer possible.
    • Solution: Major differences and disagreements are brought to the surface in a guided conversation so participants can learn, understand, and navigate them.
    • NewGround facilitators help participants broach the issues with the highest stakes and focus on values and shared goals.

Skills & Capacity Building

    • Solution: NewGround staff teach robust dialogue skills and habits that transform the way the team thinks about conflict.
    • Training includes “practice conversations” on contentious subjects of the moment, but the emphasis is on applying listening and speaking skills.

Education

    • Challenge: Community members need more information on bridging divisions, Jews, Muslims, Israel, Palestine, trigger words and phrases, and related subjects.
    • Solution: NewGround can offer short seminars that broaden the range of perspectives, narratives, and experiences.
    • Participants can ask questions they are nervous to ask and give their “first draft” reflections.

PAST CLIENTS

Words from our clients at Sequoyah School

Thank you so much for the wonderful insights! I learned a lot about conflict de-escalation, which is super useful as a debater.”

I really appreciated hearing your personal experiences in the field of constructive dialogue. They were very helpful in formulating my own approaches to dialogue.

I love the programs you lead that encourage respectful dialogue (also listening!) and challenge assumptions.”

One thing that really resonated with me was when Aziza talked about the media she had seen about Jewish people, and how that contradicted her experience she had with Jewish people. It highlighted the importance of human connection.”

Thank you for taking the time to visit our campus! This talk really made me want to learn more about Palestine and the culture there. Thanks again!”
