Community Iftar

NewGround Annual Interfaith Community Iftar

As a result of the recent COVID-19 outbreak, NewGround chose to convene online for our 2020 and 2021 Community Iftars.

Our 2021 Virtual Community Iftar, which aired on April 27, included cook-alongs from a few NewGround family members and a beautiful three-fold Iftar recitation. Watch it on YouTube or Facebook now.

Each year, NewGround convenes the largest gathering of Muslims and Jews in Los Angeles to break fast (i.e. Iftar) at a Jewish Temple. This act of coming together serves to celebrate the Islamic month of Ramadan and appreciate the community members among us who observe it. A night of community building, breaking bread, and spiritual rejuvenating, our annual Iftar has become a cornerstone of the Los Angeles interfaith community.

We invite all to join us for dinner and to celebrate the incredible work of our Change-makers as we prepare to commence graduation festivities for our most recent cohort of professionals from our fellowship program. You will get the opportunity to connect and engage with Muslims, Jews, and allies of all backgrounds from around Southern California.
