On Sunday, February 1, 2026, join us, once again, for a timely and significant gathering at the Skirball Cultural Center for NewGround’s annual Trailblazer Forum. We will celebrate 20 years of NewGround with a conversation between our two honorees, each of whom model leadership with steadfastness and compassion. 

We are pleased to announce that the honorees of this year’s Suzy and Wally Marks, Jr. z”l Trailblazer award are Mohsen Mahdawi and Rabbi Chaim Seidler-Feller.

Our honorees are uniquely positioned to address the ways free speech and protest has been exercised – and curtailed – in our fragile democracy here in the U.S., and what is at stake when our communities’ well-being are positioned against one another’s. For twenty years, these questions have been at the heart of NewGround’s work, but they have never been so consequential. We look forward to sharing more about each of our honorees in the coming weeks.
