1 Month, 2 Communal Iftars - NewGround: A Muslim-Jewish Partnership for Change

1 Month, 2 Communal Iftars

Eid Mubarak! During this past month of Ramadan, NewGround was proud to host two separate Iftars, one of which celebrated our fantastic 2017-18 fellowship cohort, and the other of which celebrated you and your willingness to engage in interfaith communication. Details on both Iftars below.

Our first Iftar, held on May 24, 2018 at the Islamic Center of Southern California was first and foremost a celebration of our wonderful 2017-18 Changemaker cohort, who that evening were given their graduation certificates, presented by one of our City of Los Angeles Human Relations commissioners, Dr. Aamna Qazi. We will miss you all! Thank you for contributing to a fulfilling and emotional experience this year!

Professional fellowship applications for the 2018-19 cohort are now open.

Our second Iftar, held on May 31, 2018 at the Wilshire Boulevard Temple, was the most successful installment of our annual Community Iftar thus far! It sold out the week of, with over 450+ tickets purchased. With the lovely support of the Wilshire Boulevard Temple staff, our exemplary ambassadors and volunteers, and your willingness to communicate and collaborate, it was an evening filled with interfaith dialogue and spiritual growth that so fittingly accompanied the Ramadan spirit that we know.

Eid Mubarak!
