2024 has brought challenges to our communities that we never could have foreseen. As we move into 2025, most of those challenges are still unresolved. Many Muslims and Jews still feel afraid and isolated. We still struggle to talk with each other about the topics that weigh heavily on our hearts. So many Americans are moving further away from each other and into more highly polarized infospheres, and the violence in the Middle East has not stopped.
What kind of world will we build in 2025? Will we strive to build bridges instead of walls? Will we listen with curiosity and compassion? Will we seek out stories that disrupt our assumptions and open our eyes to more perspectives?
For those of us at NewGround, tomorrow we will continue investing in future leaders, convening brave shared space, and shifting public opinion and action. We believe it is essential to re-humanize others and re-engage our empathy in order to make long-lasting, resilient changes that bring us all to a more just future.
